“Kempton’s recent work has revolved around the image of the television as an icon of urban society. In this work his intention is to contrast this icon with our rural past. It attempts to deal with the similarities and contradictions of our past and present.”

“Digby County is located on the Bay of Fundy in Southwestern Nova Scotia. Tourism, fishing, forestry, and to a lesser degree farming have traditionally been the mainstay of economic life. This marginal farmland… is the birthplace of the artist.”
